I was a support tech up until the end of December when I was laid off. Come the first week of Feb, I got a call on my personal phone from a number I didn’t recognize. When I answered it was from one of the people I used to support. “hey buddy, did you think you could just up and leave without telling anyone?” he said. No greeting whatsoever. Once I figured out who it was I answered “It’s not like I had much of a choice in the matter.”
After a bit of a pause he continues, “I know you don’t work here anymore, but I’m trying to hook my home printer up to my work laptop, can you still help me?”
I laughed told him to call the helpdesk, and hung up.
